"Liu Kang, protector of Earthrealm," Geras began. "I have some grave news for you."
"What has happened, Geras?" Liu Kang asked. Geras walked to the center of the room.
"When you set about in creating your timeline, your goal was to finally free Earthrealm and Outworld from their eternal war," Geras stated. "Unfortunately for your vision of peace, certain threats from other realities are making an attempt to cross over into ours even as we speak."
"My friend, what would the best course of action be?" Liu Kang worriedly asked as he paced across his room.
"Right now, Shang Tsung is our chief concern. Though I doubt I will be able to stop his crossing, I will at least slow him down," Geras answered. "I am immortal, after all. I can never truly be killed."
"Be careful all the same, Geras," Liu Kang requested. "I will train the finest warriors from Earthrealm and Outworld to assist me with this threat. Shang Tsung cannot be allowed to have his way."
