"Riddle me this, Scorpion," Johnny Cage began. "So, you know how your real name means 'quick freeze' in Chinese, right? How the hell do you have fire powers?"
"Lord Liu Kang blessed me when I was a baby," Scorpion answered with a hint of uncertainty in his voice. "Or so my father and older brother always told me. I do not know whether they speak the truth or not."
"Why not just ask the big fire man himself?" Johnny Cage suggested. "If he really did bless you as your family claims, you could surely find out right from the dragon's mouth."
"Do not speak so casually about Lord Liu Kang!" Scorpion scolded. "He is the protector god of Earthrealm and deserves to be treated as such!"
"I think I just saw him walking into that trailer with Smokey and the water wizard," Johnny Cage pointed out. "Now should be a good time to ask him."
Scorpion wanted to continue arguing with Johnny Cage, but he took a deep breath and counted to ten. Some battles were better left unfought.
