Throughout the Eras
As the new Keeper of Time, Liu Kang recreates the universe with one simple goal: free Earthrealm and Outworld from their eternal conflict. However, when a Titanized Shang Tsung crosses over from his reality, Liu Kang and Geras must act swiftly and gather champions from both realms to protect reality itself.

- The Mystery of the Trailer - Liu Kang receives two visitors on a peaceful day: Smoke, the Lin Kuei's stealth master, and Rain, the High Mage of Outworld. Both parties claim that they are the true resident of a mysterious trailer, so Liu Kang accompanies them to the site in order to help uncover the truth.
- Heart and Vows - While Tanya and Khameleon are sparring, Tanya reveals one of her greatest secrets: she has fallen in love with Princess Mileena. Khameleon advises her to ignore this and focus on her duties as leader of the Umgadi.
- Quick Fire - Johnny Cage asks Scorpion about his true name. Scorpion is very much not amused by this.
- Death Trap - Liu Kang reveals that the mysterious trailer is, in reality, a death trap. After he leaves, Smoke and Rain, the intended victims of the trap, decide to dismantle it themselves.
- The Awkward Alliance - Scorpion and Frost are confused when Sub-Zero orders the former to become the latter's mentor. Liu Kang arrives with some grim news concerning Smoke.
- Keeper of Time - After returning to the Dragon Temple, Liu Kang is visited by his friend Geras, who has some bad news for him: a Titanized Shang Tsung is crossing over from his reality into this one.
- Mileena's Secret - During a secret meeting, Mileena reveals her condition to Tanya as well as her dream for Outworld's future.
- They Called Him Mad - Reptile is overjoyed when he learns of his new destiny by accident.
- Streamer Room - Undeterred by his failure to murder Smoke and Rain, Shang Tsung sets up a new trap, with Geras and Ashrah being the intended victims this time.
- Dreams of Godhood - Raiden has dreams of his past life as a god of thunder. Though Kung Lao has doubts about whether Liu Kang truly has the answers, he accompanies his friend nonetheless.
- On Deaf Ears - Rain's attempt at warning General Shao about the trapped trailer ends horribly.
- Wreaking Havik - Havik and Sareena rescue Ashrah and Geras from the streamer room by destroying it.
- Queen's Court - Sindel gives Rain a mission: bring General Shao back to Outworld alive.
- To Die Free - Shang Tsung makes an offer to Reptile and Ermac. The two adamantly refuse.
- Chosen for Awareness - Having recharged his core, Geras decides to inform Smoke and Rain about the architect behind the doom they nearly faced. The two receive mysterious letters telling them to go to the Wu Shi Academy.
- It's Official... YOU SUCK! - Aided by Reiko and Motaro, General Shao ambushes Kung Lao and Raiden during their pilgrimage.
- Truth of Sabotage - After both Smoke and Rain make it to the Wu Shi Academy, Geras reappears and reveals that Shang Tsung was the one who nearly killed them. Rain informs Smoke of another threat to Earthrealm: General Shao.
- Time to Kollect - Quan Chi makes the decision to bring back three of his servants who turned against him.
- Cold Report - Frost, who had been spying on the meeting between Geras, Smoke, and Rain, makes her report and gives it to Sub-Zero.
- Road to Kombat - Liu Kang joins the battle on the Dragon Road to protect Kung Lao and Raiden. General Shao demands to face him in single kombat.
- Homesickness - Smoke curses himself for not accepting Geras' offer. Rain has a solution to Smoke's homesickness problem.
- Message Received - Cyrax brings Scorpion a strange letter that appeared in a puff of smoke on his desk.
- Seeking Answers - Raiden figures that he may as well ask Liu Kang his question while he is there.
- Arguing with My Sword - Ashrah argues with the spirit within her sword about the necessity of killing Tarkatans and Sareena.
- Sword of the Stars - Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Raiden walk in on the conclusion of a fight between Johnny Cage and Kenshi.
- Demon, I Summon Thee! - Sub-Zero summons Sareena in order to gain a small additional edge over Shang Tsung.
- A Deadly Alliance Reborn - Shang Tsung, exhausted from his recent string of defeats, meets with Quan Chi, who offers to lend his alliance to him.
- The Green Count - Kitana and Jade discuss the possibility of General Shao's intent to betray Empress Sindel.
- Nightfall - While watching over the camp he had set up for the night, General Shao is ambushed by Nitara, who seeks to avenge her people's deaths.
- Late Night Talks - Li Mei discusses recent rumors with Prefect Kotal and Erron Black, who are investigating General Shao's plans on Jade's request.
- The Next Step - When Motaro informs General Shao about the upcoming Mortal Kombat tournament, General Shao decides to wait for Liu Kang to travel to Outworld before killing him there.
- Seeking Champions - With General Shao's absence, Sindel, Kitana, and Mileena discuss possible replacements.
- Outcasts of Outworld - Ashrah, Baraka, Reptile, and Ermac decide to warn the royal family about Shang Tsung. There's just one problem: Baraka, Reptile, and Ermac are not allowed to set foot in Sun Do.
- Strange Flames and True Names - Smoke and Rain tell each other their real names. A swirling pillar of orange and blue fire is spotted at Madam Bo's Teahouse.
- Champions of Earthrealm - Liu Kang has gathered his chosen four warriors in Fengjian's teahouse.
- Journey to Wu Shi - Liu Kang and his allies travel to the Wu Shi Academy. Sanity is mourned.
- Trial by Water - In order to prepare his champions for Mortal Kombat, Liu Kang has Rain test them. Johnny Cage is volunteered to go first.
- A Moment Too Late - Ashrah and her group reach the Kuatan Palace only to discover that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are already in a meeting with Goro.
Bonus Chapters
- Lies of Cake - We see Smoke and Rain disarming the trapped trailer meant to kill them.
