"Smoke, Rain, I am glad neither of you actually used any of this trailer's furnishings," Liu Kang announced. The three had recently finished their inspection of the mysterious trailer.
"What's wrong with the furniture, Lord Liu Kang?" Smoke asked.
"This trailer is, in reality, a death trap," Liu Kang began. "The furniture, had it been used, would have locked the both of you inside and slain you in a gruesome manner."
"That's one mystery solved, but what is your next course of action?" Rain asked.
"I will inform Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Mileena, and Kitana. They will deal with this death trap," Liu Kang answered. "In the meantime, I will need the two of you to return to your daily lives." He then vanished in a whirl of flames, leaving the two behind.
Smoke and Rain looked at their surroundings, then at each other, ignoring the incessant beeping of a smoke alarm the entire time.
"I know Lord Liu Kang said he'd get my brothers and the Outworld princesses to deal with this, but what if we were to disarm this trap ourselves?" Smoke suggested. Rain thought for a few seconds before brandishing his staff, a wooden staff wrapped in a blue cloth and topped with three silvery frogs and a watery orb.
"I will tell you that I became High Mage because of my own talents!" Rain boasted. "Call me Rain, by the way."
"You can call me Smoke," Smoke said. "I'm the youngest of my brothers and the Lin Kuei's stealth master! This sort of thing should be child's play for me!" He and Rain quickly set to work in disarming the death trap intended for them.
