"I'm sorry, Sonya, but the Lin Kuei is, to put it simply, broke," Sub-Zero began.
"Broke?!? How the hell does an entire clan manage to be broke?" Sonya asked incredulously.
"It takes a lot of money to bribe Shinnok into not transforming us into revenants. Add in the fact that we are renovating this place and it becomes quite easy to see," Sub-Zero explained.
"Don't forget the right to loot the Krypt!" Frost added.
"Between all the dying, renovating, and grave robbing, how do you plan to get out of the red in your natural lives?" Sonya asked.
"Luckily, there is indeed a solution to the Lin Kuei's money troubles," Sub-Zero happily said. "Frost and I signed up for a game show called 'Test Your Might'. Smoke told me you and my brother participated in a similar competition in the past."
"True, I did take part in Test Your Might in the past," Sonya began. "However, I don't recall any part of the Mortal Kombat tournament being televised. I can only guess Johnny Cage convinced some TV executive to make a game show based on it."
